One Direction

Hi!

Something happened today that inspired me to write this blog post and if you're from Finland, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. The posts about my fall break are coming but I've been way too busy to write them this week.

My love for One Direction started at some point during their X Factor time. I kept hearing couple of my friends talking about them and decided to check them out. It was really weird to only listen to the covers they did on X Factor and Forever Young cover when it leaked. I also remember drawing and writing very carrot like stuff on my notebooks so let's all cringe for that together in 3..2..1..

When the boys started slowly taking over the world, I had started my exchange year in the USA. I remember being upset cause the internet was awful there and it took like 30 minutes for What Makes You Beautiful to buffer on youtube so I could listen to it. Also the album came out late there and that wasn't fun either. When the magazines in the USA and Finland wrote about the boys for the first time, I thought it was super weird and actually had someone to mail me the magazine from Finland cause I was so excited. I NEVER thought they would be in cover of most teenage magazines in just a year. Also none of my school friends never believed they were going to be big when I told them about the band. Well look at them now :P

I remember standing in Walmart holding the Up All Night tour dvd like it was yesterday. I couldn't believe the boys had a dvd out. I watched it probably waaaay too many times during one week haha.

Sometime before Take Me Home was released my interest in 1D went down for a while. I think I was too busy with everything else and found other bands to obsess over. I still liked them but I didn't exactly call myself a huge fan.

My friend Satu asked me to go see This Is Us with her when it came out and I went even though I felt like my interest in One Direction would never be as big as it was back in 2011. During the movie I remembered why I loved and still love the boys so much and I felt like a proper One Direction fangirl again.  

Then Midnight Memories got leaked released and it sounded so different and I loved it so much. Me and Satu also decided to get tickets to a 1D concert and travel to Stockholm, Sweden to see them on their Where We Are tour.

The concert in Sweden was absolutely amazing and it was so worth of lining up for 8 hours. I was so happy to see them live but when the concert ended I just knew I probably won't ever see them again because why would they ever come to Finland? No one comes over here.

We went to see the film they filmed during one of the concerts on Where We Are tour and I was shaking the whole time because it just reminded me of the concert we went to and I just wanted to experience it again. I clearly remember thinking that concert movies are probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing 1D live until....

Today One Direction said they were having a big announcement and it was new tour dates... 

...and after four years of waiting they're FINALLY performing in Helsinki. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to cry or laugh when I heard the news so I did both. For hours. It's just such an unbelievable thing. They're actually coming here! I actually never thought I would see this day. Now I just hope I'll  be able to get tickets so I get to go have the time of my life a week after my 22nd birthday :D Somehow I just know this will be even better than the concert in Sweden.
