Lion King and too much food

Hi!

I had a house-warming party this weekend with a few of my friends from school. The plan was to watch all of the Lion King movies and eat way too much junk food. We started around 3 pm on Saturday and the last guests left around 4 pm on Sunday,

We went to get some pizza after the first movie. I haven't had pizza from an actual pizzeria since I moved here and I've been craving it for weeks so that was great.

After the movies we decided to play some Mario Party. I've never played it with 3 other people and it was so much fun. I even came in the 2nd place :D

I had heard that morning that they were going to show A Mother's Nightmare on tv at midnight so we watched that with the two of my friends who decided to stay for the night. After that we just chatted for a while and went to sleep.

We ended up sleeping pretty late and I started talking about how I have eggs in my fridge because I had made cookies for the party but I don't really like eggs so we made pancakes for breakfast/lunch/dinner (it was like 4 pm). They turned out good even though they took forever to make.

I feel pretty exhausted but really happy about the weekend. I'm so happy I've met such amazing people here in Rovaniemi. And just to think about that I was so so so scared that I wouldn't make any friends here when I moved.

First week

Hi!

I'm so sorry it's been so long. I was supposed to write this blog post on Monday but I've been just so busy with everything. Better late than never though, right?

So, I'm now in Rovaniemi. The move went well. I forgot to take a lot of pictures but I had time to snap a few and here they are:

First day of school!! eeekk

So far I've been really liking Rovaniemi. It's obviously not as big as Helsinki but it could be so much worse. At least there are a few shopping centers and most of my favorite stores can be found in here. I really like my school too. Everyone in my class are so nice and I absolutely love sign language. I was so nervous if I would make any friends here but I've already went out after school with my classmates a few times and I hang out with one today (more about that in the next post). 

I already have pictures for a next post so let's hope it won't take me this long to write it haha :D

Apartment news!

Hi!

I GOT AN APARTMENT!! Aaaahh this is so exciting! On Sunday night, I sent out few apartment applications and posted a thing on a website saying I'm looking for an apartment from Rovaniemi and I got about 8 offerings. 2 of them stood out the most and one of my relatives from Rovaniemi was nice enough to go check the apartments. There was one that was closer to my school and looked nicer in general so we picked that one. I've been in contact with the landlord and now I just need to sign the lease and I'm basically ready to move in.

The move in day is on the 10th of August which is much later than I wanted it to be but no can do. At least I won't have to stay with relatives for a week and THEN move in. It looks like I have to do my back to school shopping in Helsinki which is kind of nice since we have more stores here and maybe I can get a friend to go with me.

I do have pictures of the apartment but I don't really feel comfortable with showing them here as there is still another person living in the apartment and I wouldn't want someone come take pictures of my place and publish them without my permission. I'm sure you'll get a lot of pics when I'm moved in :D

I'm just glad I have one less thing to stress about. Now we just need to figure out if I'm getting a whole new set of furniture in Rovaniemi or if we're renting a van to take my stuff there. Either way, I still have a lot of stuff to pack and a lot of friends to see before the 10th.
